I'm just gonna come right out and say it. 2009, was crap. dont you agree?
for a start, financially, the world economies headed into a huge downturn not seen since the great depression. Heaps of ppl got laid off and the poor became poorer.
Also, is it just me or did an unusual number of ppl die this year? i mean you'd think they were having some sort of race to heaven's gates or something. Famous people seemed to be dropping dead left, right and centre. Just off the top of my head...
1. heath ledger 2. patrick swayze 3. bea arthur 4. britney murphy 5. farrer fawcett 6. MICHAEL JACKSON !!!
(then i decided to google it)
There were in total six pages, of names of celebrities who kicked the bucket.no joke.RIP.
Then there was H1N1. The entire world went into mass hysteria. Meanwhile i moved to the H1N1 capital of the world, Melbourne, Victoria.(where, i might mention, nobody seemed to give a crap, and frankly, neither did i) luckily i have emerged unscathed.
And what’s all this talk about the world ending. 2012. if you think about it, there's really no need to prepare for it. no wills to write, no marks to leave in this world, there isn’t even any need for goodbyes because everything in existence is coming with u. i survived, Y2k, bird flu, mad cow, 9/11, swine flu, SARS. 2012 here i come.
Personally, my year has been INTERESTING. i can’t say it’s been bad but i've definitely had a few really low moments this year. Some through no fault of my own and others i simply chose to, shall we say, deliberately 'stand in front of on coming traffic' to see how it felt. ( i think i'm in a rebelious phase. most ppl chose to go through this during their teens, i however, have somehow decided to do it now.). but all's good. i have carefully, enveloped, sealed and labelled all my adventures and filed them under the shelf of 'learning experiences'. Photocopies were filed under 'stories for the grandkids'
And no permanent damage has been done. at least none i can recognise now.
BUt i guess it's not all doom and gloom. awesome things have happened this year too. Obama has been elected president.i'm a fan. there's a good man right there.
I went skydiving.
i've had heaps of fun, studying in UNI. its been a very liberating experience. can wait to go back. Met heaps of people from different walks of life.
and did i mention skydiving?
so to everyone that has been with me this year, thank you. i hope to see you in years to come.
Happy new year. hello 2010.

I've never really decided if i believe in God or not. The concept of god tends to be a subject where you are’nt allowed to ask questions or give your opinions so i must admit that its kinda hard for me to by it
People also say that god is suppsed to be just and fair so it doesn’t make any sense to me that by most religious definitions, a good moral person who did everything he could to help others would still go to hell if he also happened to be an atheist.
Religion also seems to keep people from communicating well because if a deeply religious person meets a not religious person, the religious person will think, “ oh this guy is a heretic, i must show him the way.” And the non religious person will think : this guy is a Jesus freak i have to get the hell out of here.”
I wish i could remember who is it that said that while it’s not okay to ask god for a bicycle, it seems to be okay to steal a bicycle and ask god to forgive you. I’ve always thought that it was interesting that churches usually have incredibly high ceilings cause when you think about it they are specifically designed to make a person feel as small, humble and insignificant as possible,
As a non-religious person its rather straight forward to theorise how people came up with the concept of God. I figure a really long time ago, one guy said to the other “ Hey man my neighbour has been stealing my sheep, making moves on my wife, and now he says he’s gonna kill me. How do i stop him from being such an asshole???” And the other guy said “ well i suppose we could tell himt hat an all powerful deity will send him to burn in a pit of fire for all eternity if he doesn’t behave himself” and the other guy said, “That’s a good idea man, let’s go write a bible” While still saying things like “God is love” , most religions still place restrictions on which gender one is allowed to love.
I’ve always thought the term “God Fearing” was odd because i can’t think of a single instance when fear and paranoia brought out the best in people. Though if i don’t know if i believe i deeply understand the appeal of believing that there is something greater than us.
Though i don’t know if i believe, when i think about how long i will be dead i understand the appeal of believing in an afterlife. Though i don’t know if i believe, movies about the devil really freak me out.
I know it sounds corny but i think that being a good person because you want to be a good person is probably alot more satisfying than being a good person so that you can get into heaven.
It never ceases to amaze me how much human misery is committed in the name of God
I’ve never figured out if i think god exists but, if he does, i think he must be terribly disappointed in us.

I’m back by popular demand.
In my last post I was just beginning my semester. Now 6 months later, I’m done with 1 semester and I’m coming home. In fact, I’m typing this is Melbourne airport, no joke.
Well, my god, where do I start. I’ve had a very eventful few months here. In fact eventful might be an understatement as those of you who have been speaking to me would already know. Let’s just say that you know you had a good time when you can’t tell your mother what you did. In fact I’ve enjoyed myself so much that I’m not really that excited to be going back home right now. My cousin says “You are the first person that I have met that is not excited about going home”. – Yeah, I’m funny like that you see. It’s not that I’m not happy, I am but I’ve enjoyed my new found freedom to such an extent that I’m a bit apprehensive about having to re-adapt to house rules.
But I’m going back to spend my 21st birthday with my family as it rightfully should be. I think, they want a party, but I’m so not a party person, I wouldn’t know what to do with everyone once they turn up, If they turn up. And therefore the thought of throwing a party just depresses me.But then again, you only turn 21 once, and it would be stupid not to make a big deal out of it.
In have really tried to jam all these experiences I’ve been missing out on into these 4 months. Always trying new things and deliberately making mistakes so that I’ll have stories to tell the grandchildren. (Hey I’ve been a goody two shoes for 20 years, cut me some slack). Didn’t waste single moment bumming around. We were always on the go.
Alright, I’ll go at it randomly as it comes to me.
I have decided that I do not like microbiology. Much prefer developmental physiology.
I went skydiving. It was awesome. Would like to do it again but its an expensive past time. I think that going skydiving it not scary at all, meanwhile, roller coasters, they are scary shit. Doesn’t mean I won’t sit on them, I’ll sit on them all. Brave okay.
I have not met Mr. Right, but I have met Mr.Completely-lost-the-plot, Mr.Rude, Mr.Boring and let’s not forget that one that’s closest to my heart Mr.Sonoffabitch. (bunch of bastards)
This studying shit is harder than it looks.
I like vodka. Its good.
Sabita: Insert alcohol for maximum effectiveness.
Melbourne’s weather changes every 15 minutes, one minute is sunny. Next it’s, raining like there’s no tomorrow then its freezing.
U cannot wear a skirt in Melbourne. Wind is too strong.
People in Singapore are just plain un-friendly.
However, public transport in Singapore rocks socks. Buses and trains take forever to come in Melbourne, and they are never on time.
I have finally learnt to play a ton of card games.
everyone come see me!!!
